This is a restoration piece I have been working on tediously for a few months now. It was the back cover of one of my favourite books called "Famous Myths and Legends".
The original back cover was terribly worn and the colours were very faded, I had to basically repaint almost all of it in Photoshop, and had to take a few 'educated guesses' at some of the colors. The image is not part of any specific story but involves a knight fighting a barbarian for the safety of the fair maiden. The background was also a lot of work, since I had very little to run with initially. But I think eventually made something that looks right, I hope... The book info: "Famous Myths and Legends" was compiled by Christine Chaundler and Eric Wood, and illustrated by A. C. Michael, and was Published in 1924. |
